Job summary

Tru Talent is seeking a talented MET Strip Fitter / MET Technician to join a leading body shop in Leeds. You will repair damaged vehicles to manufacturers' specs using modern equipment in a state-of-the-art facility.

Applicants should have completed a MET apprenticeship with NVQ/ATA/IMI/SVQ and substantial hands-on experience in geometry work and 4-wheel alignment, plus diagnostic training and a strong team mindset. Company car and a pension bonus after 12 months are offered.

Qualifications

• Must have completed a recognised MET apprenticeship and gained a technical qualification (NVQ/ATA/IMI/SVQ).
• Experience as MET Technician / MET Strip Fitter in a busy body shop.
• Experience with geometry work and 4-wheel alignment.
• Demonstrates up-to-date knowledge of vehicle repair techniques and diagnostic training.

Responsibilities

• Work efficiently in a fast-paced accident repair centre.
• Follow repair techniques in line with factory specs and customer satisfaction.
• Conduct detailed inspections to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues.
• Repair or replace damaged components, disassemble/reassemble as needed.
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify issues and perform quality checks.
• Maintain accurate records and adhere to safety standards.

Our client is looking for a talented and efficient MET Strip Fitter / MET Technician to join this leading team. You will be repairing damaged vehicles in line with the manufacturers' specifications within a state of the art body shop, utilising modern equipment and techniques.

Qualifications required for an MET Strip Fitter / MET Technician:

• Will have served a recognised apprenticeship as a MET Strip Fitter / MET Technician and gained a technical qualification (such as NVQ / ATA /IMI/ SVQ)
• Must have previous experience working as a MET Technician / MET Strip Fitter within a busy body shop and be a strong team player with a self-motivation to earn bonus hours
• Have experience with Geometry work and 4 wheel Alignment
• Will work to the highest standard and demonstrate a sound up-to-date knowledge of vehicle repair techniques
• Diagnostic training

Duties of an MET Strip Fitter / MET Technician:

• Work efficiently in a fast-paced accident repair centre
• Follow the correct repair techniques and produce work in line with factory specifications and customer satisfaction
• Conduct detailed inspections to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues.
• Repair or replace damaged mechanical, electrical, and trim components.

• Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow.
• Maintain accurate records of all work performed.
