Duties of the MET Technician
- Perform mechanical, electrical, and trim repairs on damaged vehicles
- Remove and refit mechanical and electrical components following accident damage
- Strip and rebuild vehicles to facilitate efficient repairs
- Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults
- Replace damaged suspension, steering, and braking components
- Conduct air conditioning and cooling system repairs
- Remove and refit vehicle interiors, trims, lighting, and electrical parts
- Complete post-repair checks to ensure vehicles are safe and roadworthy
- Adhere to manufacturer repair methods and industry standards
Requirements
- Proven experience as an MET Technician within an accident repair or bodyshop environment
- Strong knowledge of modern vehicle mechanical and electrical systems
- Skilled in vehicle strip and rebuild procedures
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults effectively
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality repairs
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced workshop environment
- Relevant qualifications or ATA accreditation are advantageous but not essential
