Job summary

Trekitt, Herefordshire-based outdoor retailer, is seeking a proactive Buying and Merchandising assistant to help plan and develop product ranges, maximise margins and ensure stock is right on time and in good condition.

You will work with directors, buyers and suppliers, using stock systems to forecast sales, plan budgets and optimise stock levels. This permanent role offers pension, staff discount and flexible/home working options.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar buying/merchandising role.
• Knowledge of retail or outdoor industry preferred.
• Strong numerical & analytical capability and IT proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Maximise turnover and profit by selecting ranges across departments.
• Plan stock, liaise with directors, buyers, suppliers and distributors.
• Forecast sales, plan budgets and monitor stock levels.
• Maintain accurate stock databases and use internal software.
• Present sales projections with spreadsheets and graphs.
