[Unknown retailer] is seeking an experienced Merchandiser or Junior Merchandiser to join a growing team at the northern UK head office, with relocation support available. You will own merchandise planning and trading within a retail division, shaping assortments, ranges and promotional activity.

The role focuses on commercial planning, stock control and driving performance across multiple stores, with opportunities to visit stores and influence stakeholders across departments.

• Commercial merchandising professional with strong planning, forecasting and stock management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop commercial merchandising plans to achieve sales, profit and stock targets using historical data and forecasting.
• Create and manage seasonal ranges, sales, space and inventory plans to support business goals.
• Ensure balanced assortments across locations with the right stock mix for stores.
• Establish pricing, volume and cost plans aligned with seasonal trading periods.
• Analyse sales, stock and margin performance and take timely actions to capitalise on opportunities.
• Plan and review promotional activity and measure results to improve future performance.
• Maintain stock availability through allocation, replenishment planning and open-to-buy management.
• Monitor purchasing requirements to ensure stock commitments align with demand.
• Build relationships with suppliers to support reliable deliveries and strong operational performance.
• Review store performance, customer demand and competitor activity to identify areas for improvement and growth.
• Visit stores to gain first-hand trading insights and merchandising standards.
• Lead and support allocation team to promote accuracy and efficiency.
