Job summary

1st Step Solutions is recruiting an experienced MEP Supervisor/Site Manager (Electrical Bias) for a 12 Month+ contract in Southampton. You will oversee MEP works, manage electrical trades, and maintain safe practices on site while coordinating with the client and labour teams.

The role requires NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent), CSCS Gold Card, 18th Edition, and SSSTS/SMSTS. Strong leadership and proactive problem solving are essential.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 electrical qualification or equivalent.
• CSCS Gold Card required.
• 18th Edition knowledge.
• SSSTS/SMSTS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with colleagues and supervisors on timeframe and labour requirement.
• Support with mechanical compliance, coordinate the MEP works.
• Respond to electrical issues as they occur.
• Oversee direct labour or electrical subcontractors.
• Complete mechanical site safety audits and electrical completion paperwork.
• Ensure safe working practices and electrical safety rules are followed by Electrical Sub-Contractors on site.
• Reporting on a daily basis with site issues or progression.
• Assist teams with resolving matters arising.
• Identify corrective actions and implementation of countermeasures to maximise productivity.
• Ensure materials and consumables are identified, sourced and delivered in a timely manner to minimise project disruptions.
• Maintain effective health and safety systems, including risk assessments, method statements, toolbox talks.

1st Step Solutions are working on behalf a National M&E Contractor that have a requirement for an experienced MEP Supervisor/Site Manager to join them on a new project in Southampton.

You must have previous experience working with a Tier 1 M&E Contractor, experienced in completing AP duties having worked in a client facing role.

Responsibilities:

• Liaise with colleagues and supervisors on timeframe and labour requirement.
• Support with mechanical compliance, liaise with the mechanical trades and coordinate the MEP works.
• You will be required to respond to electrical issues as they occur.
• Gather information about the electrical installation and all potential surprises.
• Oversee direct labour or electrical subcontractors.
• Complete mechanical site safety audits and electrical completion paperwork
• Ensure safe working practices and electrical safety rules are followed by Electrical Sub-Contractors on site.
• Ensure all paperwork is completed as required
• Reporting on a daily basis with site issues or progression.
• Assist teams with resolving matters arising.
• Identify corrective actions and implementation of countermeasures to maximise productivity.
• Ensure relevant materials and consumables are identified, sourced and delivered in a timely manner to minimise project disruptions maintaining records and controlling stock.
• Maintain effective health and safety systems, including completion of risk assessments, method statements, toolbox talks, etc.

Requirements:

• City and Guilds NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• CSCS Approved Electrician Gold Card.
• 18th
• SSSTS/SMSTS.
• Good literacy skills.
• Proactive thinking with an enthusiastic character.
