Job summary

Fawkes and Reece is recruiting an MEP Pre-Construction Manager - Mechanical to lead technical development of mechanical packages across fit-out, refurbishments and life-science projects in Reading. Hybrid working with travel to UK projects will be required.

You will work with the Technical Services team to reduce risk, improve tender clarity and ensure a clean handover to delivery teams, reporting to the Director of Technical Services.

Qualifications

• Experience in Mechanical Building Services or Pre-Construction.
• Knowledge of HVAC, ventilation and building services systems.
• Ability to review designs, specs and contractor submissions.
• Commercial awareness to identify scope gaps and risks.
• UK Building Regulations understanding.
• Read and interpret drawings and calculations.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical development of MEP packages from opportunity to contract handover.
• Review drawings, specs and employer requirements for buildability.
• Identify technical risks, scope gaps, and design responsibilities.
• Collaborate with commercial/estimating to clarify tenders.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors and delivery teams.
• Prepare project-specific MEP scopes and tender information.
• Lead pre-contract handovers and ensure clear delivery information.
