Job summary

Our client is seeking an MEP Pre-Construction Manager - Mechanical to lead the technical development of mechanical packages from opportunity through to contract handover. The role is based in Reading on a hybrid basis with travel to UK projects as required.

You will work with Technical Commercial Managers, estimators, consultants and specialist contractors to reduce risk, improve tender clarity and ensure a clear handover to delivery teams, while developing Technical Services procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience in Mechanical Building Services or Pre-Construction roles.
• Background in fit-out, refurbishment, life-science or technically complex projects.
• Strong understanding of HVAC, ventilation and building services.
• Experience reviewing designs, proposals and technical submissions.
• UK driving licence and own vehicle required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical development of MEP packages from opportunity through to contract handover.
• Review designs and specifications for compliance and buildability.
• Identify risks, gaps, and design responsibilities with the team.
• Coordinate with commercial and estimating to improve tender clarity and pricing.
• Prepare project-specific MEP scopes and tender information.
• Lead pre-contract handovers to delivery teams.
