Job summary

BMSL Group Ltd in South Wales is seeking an experienced Estimator to join its busy MEP contracting team, specialising in plastering, drylining, fire protection and SFS systems. The role is full-time and permanent with a negotiable salary dependant on experience.

You will manage cost control, tendering, contract administration and reporting, supporting project managers and clients to deliver on time, within budget and to high quality standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Estimator or QS with hands-on exposure to plastering, drylining, fire protection, render, or SFS projects.
• Solid understanding of cost control, budget management, and financial reporting.
• Good working knowledge of contracts, standards and legislation, with experience managing variations.
• Strong interpersonal skills for client, subcontractor and internal stakeholder engagement.
• Proactive, methodical with attention to detail and issue resolution.
• RICS or equivalent accreditation is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Cost management: oversee budgets, monitor expenditure and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Tendering & estimating: prepare accurate cost estimates and bids in collaboration with project teams.
• Contract administration: handle reviews, variations, and compliance with terms.
• Project monitoring & reporting: site visits and regular cost/performance reporting.
• Stakeholder liaison: maintain relationships with clients and subcontractors.
• Risk & value management: identify risks and apply value engineering for cost efficiency.
