Job summary

USG International is seeking an experienced MEP Engineer with strong estimating and cost-planning expertise to join our technical team in the UK. You will support preparing bids, budgets and technical proposals across commercial, residential, industrial and infrastructure projects.

The role involves collaborating with design, procurement and construction teams to develop reliable cost estimates, risk assessments and value-engineering solutions for competitive tendering and project delivery.

Qualifications

Experience in MEP estimating, cost planning or quantity surveying in building services or construction.
Understanding of drawings (CAD/Revit) and specifications for estimating.
Commercial bids experience with robust pricing and tender clarifications.

Responsibilities

Estimating & cost planning: prepare detailed MEP estimates, take-offs and cost plans for tenders and budgets.
Bid preparation: develop bid packages with scope breakdowns, exclusions and pricing schedules.
Design review & coordination: validate design intent and identify value-engineering opportunities.
Supply chain engagement: evaluate subcontractor quotes and commercial terms.
Risk & contingency management: identify risks and prepare allowances and analyses.
Cost control & reporting: assist with cost forecasts and monthly reports.
Technical input: provide MEP knowledge for mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
Standards & compliance: ensure estimates comply with UK standards and client specs.
