Role description
The role is suitable for applicants with a strong building services engineering background, whether through MEP contracting, consulting, or facilities management. The candidate should have a good understanding of commercial mechanical, electrical, and public health installations, along with knowledge of MEP regulations and standards.
Operating within our Technical Due Diligence (TDD) Team in the Lenders, Investors & Insurers Sector, the MEP Engineering Surveyor will support technical assessments within the Real Estate sector, across various property portfolios.
The main responsibilities include assessing services installations (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, Electrical, Vertical transportation, Drainage, etc.), understanding their design and condition, and providing insights into their performance and operational risks. This involves non-intrusive inspections, reviewing maintenance and compliance certifications, identifying defects, and assessing future lifecycle needs, considering factors like obsolescence. The role also involves evaluating commercial risks, lease impacts, and recommending mitigation strategies.
The Surveyor will conduct surveys, prepare defect reports, and engage with clients directly. For larger portfolios, support in management and coordination will be necessary to ensure quality and timely delivery.
This role offers an opportunity to deepen MEP knowledge, understand lease structures, and develop within our Asset Assurance and Management services for clients.
