Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain design standards
- Review and update building design criteria and guidelines to align with current industry standards and best practices
- Document and standardize mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering specifications
- Create and maintain technical documentation for design standards and procedures
Sustainability and Technical Support:
- Evaluate and recommend sustainable design solutions for mechanical and plumbing systems
- Assess energy efficiency opportunities and propose improvements
- Analyze building performance data to optimize system designs
- Drive innovation in sustainable building technologies and practices
Design Review and Quality Control:
- Review mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design submissions for compliance with standards
- Provide technical guidance and expertise to stakeholders
- Ensure designs meet sustainability targets and performance requirements
- Validate engineering calculations and specifications
Professional Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Professional Engineering certification preferred
- 5+ years of experience in MEP design
- Strong knowledge of building codes and industry standards
- Experience with sustainable design principles and green building certifications
- Proficiency in relevant design software and modeling tools
Task Breakdown and Rhythm:
- Daily collaboration with GBDE, GR Sustainability, and Ops Sustainability teams
- Evaluating design options and pilots
- Mix of independent analysis and group discussions
- Regular reporting on findings and recommendations
- Involvement in pilot projects
- Attending meetings and workshops
- Staying updated on sustainability trends
