Job summary

NG Bailey is seeking a Mechanical Cost Engineer (Estimator) in London. The role is hybrid and part of the Estimating team, delivering accurate MEP cost estimates across projects in London and the South, in infrastructure, commercial, healthcare and energy sectors.

The successful candidate will prepare detailed estimates, review drawings and specs, engage suppliers, and contribute to tender submissions with cost narratives.

Qualifications

• Proven Mechanical (MEP) estimating experience.
• Background across infrastructure, commercial, healthcare or energy sectors.
• Strong ability to review drawings and tender documents.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed mechanical (MEP) cost estimates and take-offs.
• Support tendering and work-winning activities.
• Review drawings, specs, and tender documents.
• Engage with suppliers and subcontractors for competitive pricing.
• Identify risks, opportunities and value engineering options.
• Collaborate with design, commercial and delivery teams.
• Contribute to tender submissions and cost narratives.
• Maintain cost databases and benchmarking data.
