Arup is seeking an intermediate Building Services BIM Technician to join the London/Southampton Building Engineering group, delivering BIM outputs across UK and international projects in collaboration with engineers and designers.

At Grade 3, you will develop your technical capability, take responsibility for defined BIM packages, and advance your career in BIM processes, digital delivery, and coordination within multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• HNC or equivalent qualification in Building Services, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience contributing to the delivery of building projects.
• An understanding of building services design principles.
• Experience working within a BIM environment.
• Practical experience using Autodesk Revit.
• Experience with Autodesk Navisworks and/or AutoCAD.
• An understanding of BIM model and drawing production, coordination and checking processes.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
• Good planning, organisation and time-management skills.
• The ability to manage your own tasks and work effectively towards project deadlines.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.
• The ability to explain your thinking and raise questions or issues clearly with other members of the project team.
• A proactive approach to learning and a willingness to take on new challenges.
• Experience with other relevant 3D or BIM software will also be considered.

Responsabilités

• Produce coordinated BIM models, drawings, schedules and other project deliverables.
• Take responsibility for defined BIM work packages within the Building Services discipline.
• Use Autodesk Revit as a core authoring tool to develop accurate MEP models and drawings.
• Use Autodesk Navisworks and other coordination tools to support multidisciplinary model coordination and identify clashes or design issues.
• Use AutoCAD and other relevant software where required to support project delivery.
• Work to agreed project BIM standards, procedures and quality requirements.
• Organise and prioritise your own workload to support project deadlines.
• Check your own work for accuracy and quality and participate in the checking of colleagues’ work.
• Work closely with mechanical, electrical and public health engineers to ensure BIM outputs reflect the design intent.
• Support coordination with other disciplines and understand how your work contributes to the wider project.
• Raise technical or coordination issues with more experienced team members.
• Seek feedback from colleagues and apply learning to improve quality of work.
• Share knowledge and good practice with colleagues.
• Contribute to BIM standards, workflows and good practice within the team.
• Participate in Arup skills networks and learning activities.
