Job summary

Lloyd's Register International is seeking a Mental Health & Wellbeing Practitioner (Hub Based) in Castle Douglas to provide community-based support. You will deliver 1:1 and group activities, helping individuals set goals and build practical plans for mental health and wellbeing.

The role emphasises a trauma-informed, person-centred, recovery-focused approach, with flexible weekday hours and occasional evenings or weekends.

Qualifications

  • Experience delivering one-to-one and group support.
  • Ability to build positive relationships in a trauma-informed, recovery-focused way.
  • Organised, capable of managing own workload and safe decision-making.
  • Desirable SVQ2 in Social Services and Healthcare (Adults) or working towards it.

Responsibilities

Our Dumfries and Galloway resource centres are based in Dumfries, Annan, Castle Douglas, Newton Stewart and Stranraer. We are looking for a

Mental Health & Wellbeing Practitioner to join our community-based services in Castle Douglas (hub-based).
About the role

As a Mental Health & Wellbeing Practitioner, you’ll work directly with people through a mix of 1:1 support, group activities and community engagement, helping individuals identify achievable goals, develop personal plans and build practical strategies to support their mental health and wellbeing.

About you

You’re passionate about supporting people to achieve their goals and build on their strengths. You’ll have experience delivering one-to-one and group support, be confident building positive relationships and work in a trauma-informed, person-centred and recovery-focused way. You’ll be organised, able to manage your own workload and understand the importance of safe decision‑making.

An SVQ Level 2 in Social Services and Healthcare (Adults) and SSSC registration are desirable, or you’ll be willing to work towards them.
