Job summary

Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust is recruiting Healthcare Support Workers for our 20 bedded acute ward and 4 bedded Place of Safety. You will engage with service users, support in care planning and monitor physical health in a multidisciplinary team.

You will complete a Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression course and learn to support service users in crisis with empathetic, person-centred care while maintaining a safe therapeutic environment.

Responsibilities

• Engage with service users on the ward and build rapport.
• Recognise signs and symptoms of mental health illness and support collaborative care planning.
• Support in physical health care and monitoring, including vital signs.
• Complete Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression course to safely de-escape distressed service users.
