Job Title: Mental Health Teaching Assistant

Salary: £13.68 to £16.12 per hour (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-time/Permanent

GSL Education are looking for a caring and motivatedMental Health Teaching Assistant (TA)to support students in a wonderful school inWimborne. This is your chance to make a real difference by helping children manage their emotions, stay focused, and feel confident in school.

As aMental Health TA, you will play a key role in helping students build emotional resilience and develop positive coping strategies. Your patience, empathy, and encouragement will help students feel safe, understood, and ready to learn.

Your Role Will Include:

  • Supporting students withsocial, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needsduring lessons and breaks.
  • Helping children manage their behaviour, feelings, and friendships in positive ways.
  • Working closely with teachers and other staff tomake sure students feel safe and supported.
  • Encouraging a calm and welcoming classroom environment.
  • Keeping track of how students are doing and sharing updates with the team.
  • Being a trusted adultthat students can talk to and rely on.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

  • Astrong interestin supporting children with mental health or emotional needs.
  • Experience working with young people (in school, youth work, care, or similar).
  • A calm, patient, and understanding nature.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • ACVcovering thepast 10 years(withany gaps clearly explained).
  • Anenhanced DBSregistered on theUpdate Service(or willingness to apply for one).
