Job summary

Stockport Council is hiring a Mental Health Community Support Worker to join the Adult Social Care team. This 37‑hour, full‑time, permanent role is based at Baker Street, Stockport, on Scale 6 (£33,673–£36,581) with evening and weekend increments.

You will support adults with Care Act needs in the community and in their homes, delivering care plans and helping people to regain independence and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Experience working with adults with complex mental ill health.
• Understanding the impact of mental illness on daily living and recovery.
• Strong communication and IT skills; non-judgemental approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to individuals in their own homes, in the community and in supported tenancy settings.
• Maintain a caseload with key worker responsibilities including support planning and reviews.
• Occasionally participate in an On Call Rota and assist with building tasks during shifts.
