Job summary

Lifeways Group in Stainforth, Doncaster is seeking caring Recovery Support Workers to help people with mental health needs transition back to their homes and communities. You will work within our Enhanced Community Recovery service, promoting independence and supporting recovery journeys.

We value compassionate, person-centered care and a flexible, team-oriented approach. Prior experience and a willingness to grow are essential, with NVQ/QCF in Health & Social Care an advantage.

Qualifications

  • You must have previous experience supporting people with mental health needs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Comfort with IT systems including Word, databases and email; IT literacy is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Promote independence and support clients on their recovery journey.
  • Provide recovery-focused, compassionate support to individuals.
  • Work flexibly across early, late and sleep‑in shifts on a rota basis.

About the role

We are seeking caring, honest and innovative individuals to join our dedicated team of Recovery Support Workers within our Enhanced Community Recovery supported living service in Barnsley. In this role, you will work closely with clients to promote independence, build confidence and support their ongoing recovery journey.

Shift pattern

Full flexibility is needed to work early, late, and sleep-in shifts on a rota basis Monday to Sunday.

About you
  • You must have previous experience supporting people with mental health needs.
  • You understand the challenges faced by people living with mental health conditions and are committed to providing compassionate, recovery‑focused support.
  • You have strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • You are confident using IT systems, including Word, databases and email.
  • An NVQ/QCF in Health & Social Care is an advantage, but not essential
