Job summary

First Option Healthcare Ltd in Wakefield is seeking compassionate Crisis Support Workers to join a growing team. You will work one-on-one with adults and adolescents in regulated and unregulated environments to provide immediate emotional support and crisis intervention.

Ideal candidates have at least 6 months of relevant experience, experience with eating disorders, learning disabilities, mental health, CSE, and substance misuse.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months experience working with adults or adolescents.
• Experience with Eating Disorders.
• Experience with Learning Disabilities.
• Experience with Mental Health and substances (CSE; Drug and Alcohol Abuse).

Responsibilities

• Respond to psychological or emotional crises in adults and adolescents using de-escalation techniques and intervention strategies.
• Provide in-person crisis support in homes, schools, hospitals, or community centres, fostering placements and unregulated settings.
• Establish rapport and trust with clients and their families to assess risk, stabilise crisis situations, and ensure immediate safety and emotional support.
• Collaborate with clinical leads and multidisciplinary teams to ensure intervention plans are appropriate, with timely documentation and escalation of any changes in client condition or behaviour.
• Work with professionals such as schools, young offending and psychotherapy.
• Strong report-writing skills, with the ability to produce accurate daily records, clearly document exceptions and incidents, and demonstrate sound safeguarding knowledge and experience.
