About The Role

Excellent opportunity for Mental Health Support Workers to provide holistic, recovery-focused support to clients with mental health issues across the EEDMHS. At Salvation Army Homes, we are dedicated to delivering comprehensive, high-quality housing services, support, and resettlement.

The Mental Health Support Worker will engage creatively with a caseload of clients based on their support needs, helping them develop skills and resources to transform their lives and achieve independent living. Responsibilities include providing support through 1:1 and group sessions and collaborating with external agencies.

The role involves:

  • Supporting and accompanying clients to essential appointments (health, debts, housing, etc.)
  • Advising clients on accessing information regarding housing, health, welfare, benefits, and other resources
  • Supporting medication management, if required
  • Engaging residents in service development
  • Assessing potential new clients
  • Liaising with external agencies, including health professionals
  • Managing incidents or challenging behavior
  • Developing person-centered Support Plans and Risk Management Plans with accurate record-keeping

About The Candidate

You should have experience or knowledge of supporting people with complex mental health needs or have worked in social care. You will work in line with Salvation Army Homes' values and demonstrate energy, passion, and a positive attitude.
