Job summary

MCS Healthcare in Staffordshire is seeking a Mental Healthcare Assistant to support people in the community. You will administer medication, monitor health observations, and help manage complex needs with compassion and professionalism.

You will provide emotional support, apply de-escalation techniques, and help preserve dignity at every step. The role offers flexible shift patterns (days and nights) and requires UK experience, PMVA, safeguarding, and DBS checks.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of UK Mental Healthcare Assistant experience.
• PMVA certificate.
• DBS registered on the Update Service.
• Safeguarding Level 3.
• Full UK driving licence preferred but not required.
• Manual Handling & Basic Life Support training.

Mental Healthcare Assistant- Staffordshire

Pay: £17.00 per hour

Job Types: Full-time | Part-time | Flexible Zero-Hour Contracts

The Role:

• Administering medication
• Monitoring health observations

• Providing reassurance, dignity, and emotional support every step of the way

Shifts:

• 12 hours Monday to Sunday days
• 12 hours Monday to Sunday nights

What We’re Looking For:

We’re looking for compassionate and capable Mental Healthcare Assistant who bring clinical expertise, empathy, and a calm, professional approach to complex situations. If you’ve worked in care before, particularly within the NHS or community healthcare settings, you’ll feel right at home with us.

Role Requirements:

• At least 1 year of UK Mental Healthcare Assistant experience
• PMVA certficate
• A Full UK driving licence (preferred but not required)
• Safeguarding Level 3
• A DBS registered on the Update Service
• Valid Manual Handling & Basic Life Support training
