Job summary

Hampshire County Council’s Mental Health and Substance Misuse Team is seeking a qualified Social Worker to deliver strengths-based, person-centred practice in a transforming service.

You’ll conduct assessments, manage a complex caseload, and provide supervision and practice advice, while collaborating with health partners and the Ministry of Justice on appropriate cases. Hybrid working includes 4 days remote, with a permanent contract.

Qualifications

• Social Work qualification and SWE registration required.
• Experience in a UK-based statutory setting is essential.
• Understanding of social work issues, legal frameworks and statutory duties.
• Commitment to compassion, empathy and respect in practice.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of individuals' needs and available support.
• Manage a complex caseload and provide supervision for Case Workers and Senior Case Workers; offer practice advice on complex cases.
• Participate in duty triage for urgent cases and triaging safeguarding referrals; make informed decisions.
• Liaise with Health colleagues to facilitate hospital discharges.
• Hold forensic cases and work with the Ministry of Justice.
