If so, West Sussex CAMHS may have just the opportunity for you!

Coastal and North West Sussex Children Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) have recently received funding to develop and expand the fantastic services we offer to young people in our community. We work with a range of children and young people who present with a multitude of mental health problems.

We are looking for a skilled mental health practitioner who will take the lead in working with our adult colleagues to identify those young people who will require ongoing care in post 18 services and to support their transitions. We have an identified lead for transitions and an integrative policy framework to guide our practice.

The post will suit a practitioner from either child or adult services who has a commitment to ensuring the achievement of good quality transition plans.

This could involve working with our colleagues in the ADMHS or Tier 2 level services such as Sussex Talking Therapies, Pathfinder and signposting to other local support services.

If this post appeals to you and you don't have the experience with any of the care groups we have highlighted, don't let this be a barrier to your application. So if you have experience in any other Mental Health Services such as Forensic Healthcare, Eating disorders, Dementia etc, please do apply as full training and opportunities to shadow staff within our teams will be provided.

About us

The post holders will receive clinical and line management supervision and support as well opportunities for in-house training. Some post-registration training would be very welcome, however the Trust is keen to develop its Mental Health Practitioners and there are lots of opportunities for CPD and being part of the wider Sussex CAMHS team through Away Days and other specialist training opportunities.

This post offers the Trust's £2,000 Golden Hello or Relocation Incentive for Band 5-6 Nurses & Practitioners, (pro rata and subject to terms and conditions; please see attached Protocol Document for full details).

Holding a diverse case load of young people with complex emotional needs which requires significant attention to detail particularly around risk management in the community, thus co-ordinating and working with external agencies such as social care and education etc. You will have the opportunity to co-facilitate groups and treatment alongside multidisciplinary team colleagues to offer evidenced based care.
