Hays Healthcare is actively recruiting a Mental Health Practitioner Band 6 for a Crisis Team based in Wakefield. This service operates 7 days a week.

Your new role

1. Provide timely access to specialist services for children and young people in crisis or at immediate risk to themselves and/or others. Outreach to those who are difficult to engage, providing intensive support to meet identified needs, and contributing to the prevention of admission to residential provision as well as facilitating timely discharge from residential care.
2. Support the development of a comprehensive CAMHS system, including the Emergency Assessment, Intensive Treatment Response, and Outreach components of the Specialist CAMHS portfolio, in line with service specifications and commissioner investment.
3. Deliver specialist assessments, intensive interventions, and time-limited therapy to children and young people with severe, complex, and persistent mental health issues, including those who are severely mentally ill or at suicidal risk. Work both autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team across various settings to address needs.
4. Provide immediate specialist assessments and develop associated care plans for children and young people in crisis or at significant risk.
