Job summary

South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust seeks a Band 3 Health Care Assistant for the Dova Unit at Furness General Hospital. You will work within a 20-bedded mixed-sex inpatient unit as part of the multidisciplinary team, supporting care plans and patient recovery.

Training is provided, with flexible working patterns to support NHS wellbeing. The role requires compassion, good communication, and the ability to work rotations, including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience in a care or mental health setting is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided.
• Compassionate, patient-focused and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Work within the MDT, supporting patients according to their individual care plans on a rotational shift system.
• Support patients and carers, promoting dignity, respect and recovery.
