Are you a recent University graduate interested in supporting children with mental health challenges? Do you have a passion for helping others with a patient and encouraging approach?

A Specialist School in Bath (BA2) is seeking a dedicated Graduate to join their team as a Mental Health & Behaviour Support Assistant. The school caters to children aged 4-16 facing social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges, including attachment disorders, ADHD, anxiety, trauma, and low self-esteem.

* Start ASAP
* £90 to £100 per day, depending on experience
* Bath - BA2
* Monday - Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm
* Graduate Opportunity – Psychology, Criminology

The pupils often have experienced adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and may struggle in mainstream environments. In this role, you will support a small class of 5 to 10 pupils, working with teachers, therapists, and support staff to deliver tailored education and interventions aimed at enhancing learning, personal development, and emotional well-being.

As a Mental Health & Behaviour Support Assistant, you will:

  • Encourage academic progress and provide emotional support.
  • Manage and respond to challenging behaviors caused by SEMH needs.
  • Identify individual needs and triggers, helping students overcome obstacles.
  • Promote positive decision-making, reduce anti-social behaviors, and boost academic performance through trauma-informed practices.

This role offers a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience in a supportive specialist setting. Engagement with restorative and trauma-informed approaches will help you build a strong foundation for a future career in Psychology, Therapy, Counseling, or Social Work.
