Job summary

Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 5 Staff Nurse to join the inpatient low secure forensic unit within the Trust. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering care to patients with complex mental health needs, supervising HCAs to maintain high standards of practice.

The post requires at least 1 year post-graduate experience with Preceptorship completed, adherence to NMC standards and Mental Health Act knowledge.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year post-graduate experience and completed Preceptorship.
• Be registered with the NMC and comply with professional standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a 24/7 inpatient setting.

Responsibilities

• Work independently and as part of a team to provide 24/7 mental health care in an inpatient low secure forensic setting.
• Act as a role model to HCAs and supervise to ensure high-quality care.
• Collaborate with partners, service users, and colleagues within the MDT.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate all aspects of patient care.
• Maintain confidentiality and accurate documentation of patient information.
• Establish therapeutic relationships with patients, carers and relatives; contribute to care plans.
• Discharge planning in line with Care Programme Approach and discharge policies.
