Job Title: Mental Health Assistant

Contract Type: Long Term Contract, 5 days a week, 8:30 – 15:45

This role is suitable for candidates with some experience or interest in mental health and Special Educational Needs (SEN). It is essential that applicants can assess and identify roles suited to their skills and interests.

It is also an excellent opportunity for graduates interested in Social Justice, Parole, Probation, or the Criminal Justice system, especially those interested in advocacy related to mental health needs.

This position is ideal for individuals with previous SEN experience or graduates eager to gain hands-on experience working with social, emotional, and mental health needs. It is particularly suitable for those seeking a career in youth work.

Responsibilities:

  1. Work with classes of 3-6 pupils, maintaining a staff to student ratio of 1:1.
  2. Support pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs.

Requirements:

  1. An undergraduate degree (preferable) and/or previous SEN experience, especially suitable for Criminology and Psychology graduates.
  2. An interest in mental health and Autism.
  3. Knowledge or keen interest in various learning and behavioral needs, including SEMH.
