Job summary

microTECH Global LTD in Manchester, United Kingdom, is seeking a talented MEMS Design Engineer to join a growing deep-tech team. You will take MEMS concepts from simulation through fabrication, testing and validation, contributing to cutting-edge sensing technology at the intersection of MEMS, photonics, optics and semiconductors.

You will design and optimise MEMS devices, perform multiphysics analyses with COMSOL and MATLAB, and collaborate with fabrication partners to deliver robust,

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in MEMS/ Microsystems/ Mechanical/ Physics/ Electrical Eng or related discipline.
• Experience designing MEMS devices through industrial development or academic research.
• Strong understanding of MEMS physics and semiconductor fabrication processes.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop MEMS devices for advanced sensing applications.
• Create device concepts, simulations, layouts and fabrication-ready designs.
• Perform multiphysics modelling and simulation, including mechanical, thermal, electrostatic and optical analysis.
• Develop and optimise MEMS structures such as actuators, suspension systems, mirrors and interferometers.
• Create mask layouts and support design release activities.
• Collaborate with fabrication teams and external manufacturing partners.
• Analyse test data and correlate experimental results with simulations.
• Investigate performance limitations and drive continuous design improvements.
• Support system integration activities alongside optics, electronics and manufacturing teams.
• Contribute to intellectual property development and future technology roadmaps.
