Job summary

microTECH Global LTD is seeking a Test & Validation Engineer to join an innovative deep-tech team developing MEMS-based spectrometer technology for high-performance sensing applications. You will test and validate prototype and commercial systems across NIR, MIR and Raman spectroscopy, developing robust validation methodologies and using data to drive product development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physics, Optical Engineering, Electronics, Photonics, Systems Engineering, Instrumentation or related field.
• 3+ years' experience in test, validation, characterisation or product development.
• Hands-on experience testing hardware or scientific instrumentation.
• Strong experimental and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Experience developing test procedures and validation plans.
• Experience with Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW or similar data analysis/test tools.
• Strong technical documentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test and validation plans for MEMS-based spectrometer systems.
• Design and build laboratory test setups, rigs and measurement systems.
• Characterise NIR, MIR and Raman spectroscopy platforms.
• Measure key performance parameters including spectral resolution, SNR, wavelength accuracy, sensitivity, repeatability and stability.
• Develop manual and automated test procedures to improve testing efficiency.
• Analyse experimental data and identify trends, failures and root causes.
• Support product verification, production testing and qualification activities.
• Investigate performance deviations and non-conformances.
• Produce technical reports and communicate findings to engineering and management teams.
• Work closely with MEMS Design, Manufacturing and Project Engineering teams to support product development.
