Job summary

The Lensbury in Teddington is seeking a proactive Receptionist to warmly welcome members and guests and handle daily front desk tasks. You will check memberships, process payments, and help promote the venue’s activities, events and facilities.

Ideal candidates will have reception experience, strong customer service and accurate typing, with an interest in sport and leisure. This role offers varied duties across the front desk and membership support.

Qualifications

• Ability to deal effectively and competently with all guests and members.
• Methodical approach to work and strong organisational skills.
• Excellent customer service skills and good telephone manner.
• Accurate typing skills and attention to detail.
• Previous reception or similar role experience and knowledge of computerised reservation systems.
• Interest in sport and leisure is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Welcome all club members and their guests with confidence and a pleasant manner.
• Check membership cards and process charges as required.
• Adhere to cash handling procedures and reconcile till at end of shift.
• Maintain high personal standards; ensure uniform is clean and presented.
• Promote current offers, activities and events to members and guests.
• Book activities for members and process payments where applicable.
• Assist customers enquiring about membership at The Lensbury.
• Coordinate with other leisure departments for activity bookings; ensure printed material is available.
• Keep reception areas clean and well presented, including notice boards.
• Cover shifts across reception areas to ensure adequate staffing.
• Support membership sales activities with the Membership Team.

Part of Iconic Hotels and Resorts, The Lensburyis located on the Banks of the River Thames at Teddington and is home to an exclusive leisure club, a 155 bedroom hotel, meeting and events space, restaurant and bar, Spa and 25 acres of gardens and grounds.

Key Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate confidence, a pleasant personality and good communication skills while welcoming all club members and thier guests
• Check membership cards and charge fees when required
• Adhere to all cash handling procedures, including till reconciliation and cashing up at the end of late shift
• Maintain high personal standards and ensure uniform is always clean and well presented
• Be knowledgeable on current offers, activities & events and promote them to all members and guest
• Book activities for members and take payment where appropriate
• Assist customers enquiring about membership at The Lensbury
• Liaise with other leisure departments regarding activity booking where required. Ensure all printed material is available to members
• Ensure the Reception areas are presented to the highest standard including all notice boards.
• Work flexibly between all Reception areas to ensure adequate staffing is achieved, covering breaks and absence as required
• Carry out additional membership sales responsibilities, assisting the Membership Team
