Job description

Job Title: MEICA Project Manager

We're seeking a MEICA Project Manager to join our Natural Resources, Nuclear and Networks team, working on the Environment Agency collaborative delivery framework in Bridgwater, Somerset.

Location

Bridgwater, Somerset - this role requires an active presence on site.

Hours

45 hours per week – flexible start and finish times available. Please discuss your preferences during the interview process.

Responsibilities

As a MEICA Project Manager, you will lead the delivery of Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control, and Automation systems for the Bridgwater Tidal Barrier, a significant flood defence project in Somerset. Your role involves design review, project delivery, and commissioning of complex multidisciplinary infrastructure.

Your daily tasks include:

  1. Leading and managing a multidisciplinary team of up to 10 personnel on-site, including commercial, programme controls, engineering, and more, to meet client requirements.
  2. Collaborating with the Senior Project Manager and management team to guide specialist teams, ensure alignment with project objectives, and maintain the P6 programme throughout the project lifecycle.
  3. Owning the MEICA elements from design to commissioning and handover, ensuring integration with civil works and managing interfaces between MEICA systems and civil packages.
  4. Coordinating subcontractors, consultants, and in-house resources to ensure timely, safe, and quality delivery, maintaining communication with architects, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders.
  5. Ensuring all MEICA installations comply with standards such as BS7671, IEC 61508, WIMES, and EA standards, and adhere to CDM 2015, Kier SHE policies, and industry best practices.
Candidate Requirements

This role is ideal for candidates with:

  • Proven experience delivering MEICA packages on major infrastructure, flood defence, or water sector projects.
  • Qualifications in Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering disciplines.
  • Health and safety certifications such as CSCS, SMSTS, or equivalent.
  • Understanding of MEICA integration in civil engineering projects, industry regulations, standards, and H&S legislation.
  • Experience with automation, SCADA, PLC, telemetry, and HV/LV electrical systems in coastal or flood defence environments.
