Job summary

SYSTRA UK & Ireland is looking for a MEICA (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Controls and Automation) Engineer to join their team in Birmingham. This role involves preparing detailed designs for engineering projects and collaborating with a dynamic team.

The ideal candidate will have good knowledge in mechanical and electrical design, working towards professional registration. You'll contribute to a variety of projects within water, energy, and infrastructure sectors.

Qualifications

• Good knowledge and experience within own discipline.
• Experience of working as a design engineer under supervision.
• Knowledge of producing P&IDs complying with UK standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare design for multi or single disciplinary projects.
• Report updates to senior Engineers and project management.
• Ensure safety of staff during design lifecycle.

Skills

Mechanical and electrical design knowledge

Experience in design engineering

Knowledge of construction principles

Proficiency in relevant computer programmes

Understanding of budgets/timescales

Education

Degree or equivalent in relevant discipline

HNC or equivalent qualification

Tools

PLC systems

SCADA systems
