Job summary

IQVIA is seeking a MedTech Field Service Engineer Technician to install hardware for automated dispensing systems in healthcare facilities across the UK. You will hand-build, test, and commission equipment, traveling regionally and nationally on assignment with a typical week of 16–30 hours plus travel.

Role requires 1 year electronics/hardware experience, ability to read schematics, use hand tools, and coordinate with engineers and healthcare staff.

Qualifications

  • General Certificate of Secondary Education required.
  • Minimum 1 year related electronics, hardware, software or mechanical experience.
  • Professional business acumen and communication skills.
  • Comfort with basic software programs and Microsoft operating systems.
  • Ability to work with design engineers, project managers & healthcare personnel.
  • Ability to use hand & power tools, read schematics and assemble components.
  • Must clear hospital vendor credentialing requirements and vaccinations.
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds and sit/stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

  • Organizing, testing, and assembling automated dispensing systems; install/configure hardware.
  • Review schematics, documentation, and logistics to support installation.
  • Carry out pre-assembly, building, and installation of conveyors and related equipment.
  • Install pneumatic devices, RFID readers and sensors throughout the system.
  • Commission electronic/electrical systems and structured cabling.
  • Conduct routine checks and record data from product tests after installation.
  • Ensure work complies with quality requirements and timelines.
  • Collaborate with a team of support staff and customers; training provided.

Our MedTech Field Service Engineer Technicians experience a unique opportunity to employ their technical experience by collaborating with healthcare professionals and leading technical initiatives in medical device technology.

You will be responsible for installing hardware for automated medication dispensing systems within healthcare facilities throughout. This position requires you to travel 100% locally, regionally, and nationally. Due to the travel, the role requires open availability Monday through Friday. Work is assignment based, with a typical week including 16-30 hours worked, plus travel time.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Organizing, testing, and assembling automated medication dispensing systems; all tasks revolve around installing and configuring hardware.

  • Review of schematics / drawings, documentation, and logistics to support installation activities.

  • Carry out pre-assembly, building, and installation of conveyors, automated dispensers & related equipment.

  • Installation of pneumatic devices, RFID readers and sensors throughout conveyor system.

  • Carry out commissioning of electronic/electrical systems and structured cabling installation.

  • Conduct routine checks and record data from product tests after installation and configuration.

  • Ensure work is completed in accordance with quality compliance requirements.

  • Partner with a team of support staff, manage project timelines and customer needs.

  • Training for this role will be provided and is paid

Schedule:
  • Per-diem, assignment-based position requiring travel and open flexibility.
Required Qualifications:
  • General Certificate of Secondary Education required.

  • Minimum 1 year related electronics, hardware, software or mechanical experience required.

  • Professional business acumen and communication skills required.

  • Must be comfortable with basic software programs and Microsoft operating systems.

  • Ability to work with design engineers, project managers & healthcare personnel to identify equipment layout, operations, and workflow required.

  • Ability to use hand & power tools, read schematics, and assemble components required.

  • Ability to clear hospital vendor credentialing requirements, including proof of vaccination status, required.

  • Position may/will require up to date immunizations.

  • Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 poundsrequired.

Travel Requirement:
  • An active and unrestricted driver’s license is required.

  • Will have a personal vehicle and willing to use it for job related assignments.

  • Ability to travel locally, regionally, and nationally weekly to support customer needs required.

  • Needs to be located within 30 miles of a major airport.

  • Travel, and your time traveling is paid, as is mileage.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Military veterans with experience in electronics related MOS are encouraged to apply!

  • Ability to work independently in customer settings with minimal supervision.
