Job Overview

TVS, working as part of Team Leidos, a team of defence and logistics specialists, supports a major contract providing end-to-end supply chain services, delivering commodity and inventory savings to the UK Ministry of Defence. We are recruiting a Medical Technician for the medical supplies division of the Commodity Management Pillar.

This role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced Healthcare Assistant (Band 3) to utilize product knowledge in medical consumables to support Team Leidos and UK Defence Clinicians. The Medical Technician will work at the Team Leidos offices in Emersons Green, Bristol, as part of a dynamic team committed to transforming MOD support.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Assist in the specification development, in-service technical management, rationalisation, and commercialisation of medical products to support military platforms across Land, Air, and Maritime environments.
  2. Provide day-to-day technical support and expert advice on medical consumables, acting as the technical expert within the team.
  3. Advise on product modifications, safety cases, and safety issues.
  4. Build relationships with senior military personnel, MOD Civil Servants, and suppliers to define product requirements and specifications.
  5. Collaborate with military and industry experts to identify improvements and rationalise product ranges by attending meetings, expos, and trade fairs to stay updated on industry trends.
  6. Support contract tendering, evaluation, through-life management, and obsolescence management with professional confidence.
Qualifications and Skills
  • NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Full UK driving licence (some travel expected).
  • Experience in critical care or theatre settings.
  • Previous experience with the UK MoD and understanding of its processes and equipment.
  • Knowledge of NATO codification requirements and processes.
  • Understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes.
  • Interest in Medical Consumables and willingness to develop technical knowledge.
Additional Information

The role is based in Emersons Green with flexible start/finish times, onsite parking, and an early finish on Fridays to promote work-life balance. The successful candidate will need to pass a Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance.
