Job summary

North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 4 Medical Secretary based at the Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle, within the Urgent & Emergency Care (U&EC) Secretarial team. The role supports the clinical team and ensures smooth daily administration for ED, SDEC and AMU.

The ideal candidate will have GCSE English at C or equivalent, RSA 3/word processing or NVQ3 in admin, and a medical secretarial background.

Qualifications

• GCSE English (C) or equivalent; RSA 3 typing or NVQ3 in business admin.
• Medical secretarial diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and secretarial duties.

Responsibilities

• Provide high standard administrative support to the clinical team.
• Liaise with departments, NHS Trusts and external agencies.
• Be the first point of contact for patients and maintain professional patient-focused service.
