About the role
Post holders will be appointed at band 3 or band 4 depending upon previous experience as laid out in the Trust's development framework for medical secretaries. The framework provides a clear progression to allow post holders to progress from band 3 to band 4 within the post, subject to formal evaluation (this would take 2 years).
We are looking for an experienced secretary to join the secretarial and administration team in Community Paediatrics. The role offers opportunities for enthusiastic and conscientious individuals to provide comprehensive medical secretarial services to consultants and junior medical staff, aiding workload organization and contributing to the organization’s success.

You will need previous medical secretarial and administrative experience, preferably in healthcare. Strong IT skills, a good general education, extensive knowledge of Office and Outlook (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, internet), and advanced typing/word processing skills are essential.
You should have excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Flexibility, initiative, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and the capacity to work under pressure and meet deadlines are important. A positive and enthusiastic attitude is also required.
The post involves working proactively, supporting team development, and adhering to Trust values. No secretarial support for private practice is permitted during contracted hours. Flexibility to support other services temporarily may be required.
