A full-time secretary is required in the Ophthalmology Department to provide a comprehensive and quality medical secretarial service to consultants and their teams.
You will provide administrative support as well as be involved in the day-to-day work for the consultants. You should be enthusiastic, motivated and have good organisational and communication skills. You will be responsible for the SDU Lead.
Excellent computer and audio-typing skills are also required. Previous secretarial experience is essential; medical terminology/knowledge would be an advantage.
To provide a comprehensive Medical Secretarial and Administration Service to the Department in strict accordance with the Data Protection Act and Trust Confidentiality Guidelines, ensuring all work is processed in a timely, efficient way.
Provide a full and comprehensive Medical Secretarial Service, including timely audio typing of clinic letters, discharge summaries, letters, documents/presentations, taking and typing of minutes, agendas, and compilation of letters as required by the Consultant(s) and respective Team(s). This may involve correction of incorrect grammar and interpretation of different pronunciations and handwritten clinical notes of advanced medical terminology.
