We are looking to appoint a Band 7 Service Manager for General Surgery, Vascular, and ALAC. The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day operational and performance issues within the designated area of responsibility to ensure the Delivery Unit meets its key targets and priorities in a safe, sustainable, and effective environment.

Main duties of the job

  1. Report the key performance indicators for the specialty area.
  2. Support the delivery of the single cancer pathway.
  3. Seek innovative ways to manage and deliver services more efficiently and effectively, supporting service modernisation.
  4. Ensure junior staff rotas are functional.
  5. Manage staff within the area of responsibility on a daily basis.

Person specification

Qualifications

  • Recognised management qualification.
  • Educated to master's level or equivalent experience.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Supervisory experience.
  • Proven experience of operational delivery.
  • Knowledge of RTT and SCP.
  • Experience managing a department or group of staff.
  • Evidence of implementing service change.

  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage, motivate, and develop team working.
  • Ability to manage under pressure and multitask to achieve objectives.
