NHS Tayside at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee invites applications for a Medical Secretary, Band 4, full-time (36 hours) in the Pathology Department. You will produce and authorise pathology reports from digital files and handwritten notes, and prepare for consultant-led multidisciplinary meetings.
Candidates should have knowledge of Cellular Pathology terminology, excellent keyboard skills, and experience with MS Word. Desirable: minute-taking, teamwork, and strong organisational abilities.

Applications are invited for the above full‑time, permanent post based in the Pathology Department, Ninewells Hospital, Dundee. The successful applicant will be required to produce and authorise pathology reports from digital files and handwritten notes, prepare for consultant led multidisciplinary meetings, liaise with external reporting services, requisitioning using electronic systems, take and transcribe minutes from meetings and supervise Clerical Officer staff ensuring workload is prioritised accordingly for service provision.
Knowledge of Cellular Pathology medical terminology, excellent keyboard skills and experience of Microsoft Word packages are essential. In addition, it would be desirable for applicants to have had exposure to taking and transcribing minutes, have good interpersonal and organisational skills and be able to work as part of a team.
Applicants will have an HNC in Office Administration or an equivalent level of experience in an NHS Cellular Pathology Admin role.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience of working in a busy, progressive Cellular Pathology Laboratory Office within a large Teaching Hospital.
