Job summary

The Alexandra Hospital in Cheadle, part of Circle Health Group, is seeking a Medical Records Officer to join the Medical Records department on a bank basis. This role supports clinics, admissions and investigations, ensuring accurate, accessible patient records and strict confidentiality.

You will work with hospital PAS, EMR and EPR systems, providing cover during busy periods and annual leave with focus on accuracy, organisation and professional communication.

Qualifications

• Previous administrative experience, ideally in a healthcare or records-focused role.
• Good understanding of confidentiality, GDPR and information governance.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good organisational skills and ability to mange time and priorities.
• Comfortable with IT systems and databases.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient records for upcoming clinics, admissions, investigations and procedures.
• Ensure all required documentation is accurately filed and accessible for clinical teams.
• Locate and retrieve patient notes efficiently when requested by clinical, admin or legal teams.
• Handle patient information with confidentiality and discretion.
• Support clinicians and admin teams by ensuring timely access to complete records.
• Use electronic systems to log, update and search patient data accurately.
