Job summary

EJ Connect Limited is seeking a friendly Medical Receptionist for a GP surgery in Telford. This 10-hour-per-week role covers Tuesday 1pm-6pm and Friday 1pm-6pm.

You will greet visitors, answer calls, register new patients and educate them on booking options, while maintaining patient confidentiality and supporting a busy front desk. Ideal candidates will have EMIS experience, strong administrative and IT skills, and an outgoing personality.

Qualifications

• Previous work in a fast-paced environment is essential.
• Knowledge and experience of EMIS are required.
• Outgoing, friendly personality with a desire to meet new people.
• Ability to build rapport quickly and effectively.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and multitask in a busy setting.
• Willingness to adapt to changing working practices in a busy medical environment.
• Good administrative, IT and keyboard skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet all visitors in a professional and friendly manner.
• Answer incoming phone calls, transfer calls or handle requests appropriately.
• Register new patients promptly and educate them on booking options.
• Identify patient needs through appropriate questioning.
• Maintain high standards of patient confidentiality.
• Carry out general office duties.
• Maintain a clean, tidy and effective work area.
