Job description

Are you a calm, empathetic receptionist with strong admin skills and a professional, patient-facing approach? Do you thrive in healthcare environments where attention to detail, sensitivity, and communication make a real difference? Signature Recruitment is working with a London clinic to recruit a Medical Receptionist for a full-time, three-month assignment. This is a fully on-site role, Monday to Friday, supporting a busy diagnostic team working with patients undergoing cancer, paediatric, and neurological scans. You’ll be part of a growing, friendly team delivering compassionate front-of-house support providing vital reassurance and guidance to patients, while keeping administrative processes running smoothly and accurately.

Medical Receptionist Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and update patient records using internal systems and assist with daily scanning list preparation
  • Greet and check in patients, monitor waiting areas, and ensure adherence to scan protocols (e.g. fasting)
  • Confirm appointments by phone and advise patients on preparation requirements; escalate late arrivals to the clinical team
  • Answer phone calls and emails, responding to queries or signposting appropriately with care and professionalism
  • Organise incoming/outgoing post, prepare documents for filing/scanning, and support the team with general admin duties
  • Ensure reception and shared areas are kept clean, stocked, and welcoming at all times
Medical Receptionist Key Skills:
  • Proven experience in a receptionist and administrative role, ideally within a clinical or hospital environment
  • Excellent verbal communication, with a calm, professional manner and strong attention to detail
  • Confident using Excel, databases, and internal systems to manage appointments and patient records
  • Strong empathy and discretion, with the ability to support patients during sensitive and emotionally challenging situations
