Job summary

University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust is inviting applications for a Medical Laboratory Assistant in the Blood Sciences team at Weston General Hospital.

The post supports diagnostic services across Haematology, Blood Transfusion and Clinical Biochemistry, contributing to the workflow from pre-analytical to post-analytical stages and to the implementation of new automated instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining new equipment and supporting verification of instruments.
• Assist with sample workflow in automated laboratory settings.
• Handle filing of samples and storage/retrieval of consumables and reagents.
• Use laboratory information management systems and software to enter data daily.
• Attend mandatory training and maintain safety regulations.
