Job summary

University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a laboratory support role to assist Biomedical Scientists. You will perform sample preparation, input patient data, and manage reception queries in a busy 24/7 pathology setting.

The role requires good numeracy and literacy, a high standard of English, and the ability to multitask; shifts include nights, weekends and bank holidays on rotation with the team.

Qualifications

• Must have good numeracy and literacy.
• High standard of verbal and written English.
• Keyboard data entry skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process samples (blood, urine, tissue, body fluids).
• Enter patient data into laboratory computer system.
• Handle reception duties and respond to queries from service users.
• Maintain housekeeping duties and participate in quality & audit work.
