Job description

We are now recruiting a Stroke Consultant on an NHS Fixed Term Locum Consultant contract for an initial 12 month period for an NHS Trust in Buckinghamshire.

Our client is an integrated Trust that has recently expanded their Stroke service and opened a second cath lab while maintaining their A grade rating for SSNAP. They have been designated one of eight Accountable Care Systems in the country and named in the top 40 Trusts in the UK.

Based in a high performing Stroke Service, which has routinely achieved grade A “SSNAP” for the last several years, they score among the best in the country for hyper acute domains including thrombolysis. 24/7 Mechanical Thrombectomy (MT) is available across partnering sites, with transfer rates for MT currently at 5% and rising. Our client is in the top 10% of Trusts nationally for “Door in Door Out” times.

Main Duties:

• Maintenance of the highest clinical standards in the management of Stroke patients
• Sharing responsibility with colleagues for the day-to-day management of the Stroke Service
• Teaching and training junior staff
• Actively participating in departmental and Trust matters concerning Clinical Governance and audit
• Ensuring active participation in continuing professional development (CPD)

Salary Range: £105,504 to £139,882 a year
