Job description

This position is responsible for assisting physicians with clinical procedures and providing clerical support as assigned. It serves as the primary link between the patient and the practice and acts as a liaison between the practice and outside support services.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate schedules with professional staff and schedule appointments.
  2. Register patients, verify insurance coverage, and appropriate referrals.
  3. Answer phone calls and direct them accordingly.
  4. Prepare each patient’s medical record per office protocol, including lab reports, allergies, and other correspondence.
  5. Prepare patients for examination, assisting elderly residents with gowning and seating as appropriate.
  6. Perform CLIA waived tests as instructed by physician, including phlebotomy, electrocardiograms, glucometer tests, and spirometry.
  7. Maintain treatment rooms and clinical equipment; manage clinical inventory and order supplies as needed.
  8. Record vital signs and perform screenings such as blood pressure, height, weight, pulse, respirations, vision, and temperature.
  9. Prepare and administer vaccinations as needed.
  10. Float to other CNEMG locations as required.
  11. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Vocational/Technical training and/or at least six months of relevant experience or equivalent.
  • Strong background as a Medical Secretary.
  • Good communication skills, including formatting and proofreading letters.
