Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year of prior experience in healthcare and familiarity with medical terminology.
  • Strong attention to detail and high comfort with computer applications.

Responsibilities

  • High volume of phlebotomy and ensure lab specimens are sent to proper labs.
  • Document patient care services utilizing daily logs and patient records.
  • Assist physician or ultrasound technician with various procedures.

The work we do building families offers stimulation, challenge, and personal reward.

We have an immediate opening for a Full-Time Medical Assistant to join our Norfolk, VA office. The schedule is Monday - Friday 6:30 am - 4:00 pm and every 4th weekend (half days). There will also be rotating holidays.

How You'll Contribute:

We always do whatever it takes, even if it isn’t specifically our “job.” In general, the Medical Assistant is responsible for:

  • High volume of phlebotomy
  • Maintain supplies for the blood drawing stations
  • Ensure lab specimens are sent to proper labs
  • Document patient care services utilizing daily logs and patient records
  • Utilize the computer in entering labs and printing labels
  • Assist physician or ultrasound technician with various procedures
  • Assist with HSGs as needed
  • Take vital signs and provide general clinical assistance
  • Assist with the clinical care of fertility patients

  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail, demonstrated ability to follow through, and high comfort with computer applications, accuracy, and speed with data entry
  • Minimum of one year of prior experience in healthcare and familiarity with medical terminology
