Job summary

Weil Foot & Ankle Institute in our Hillpoint and Chesapeake offices is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and patient care. This role involves taking basic vital signs, preparing rooms, verifying patient information, assisting with procedures, and scheduling follow‑up visits.

Qualifications include Medical Assistant certification (2 years in healthcare preferred), a high school diploma or GED, strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work with minimal

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant certification with 2 years in a healthcare position preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Critical thinking, decisive judgment and the ability to work unsupervised or with minimal supervision.
• Strong computer skills and use of Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of basic medical procedures such as dressing a wound.
• Strong communication and active listening skills.
• Strong organizational and clerical skills to maintain patient files.
• Customer services skills.
• Knowledge of safety and sanitation procedures.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients to gather medical history and update medical records.
• Gather basic vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, height, weight, and pulse.
• Prepare treatment rooms and patients for exam.
• Sterilize instruments and set up in-office procedure trays.
• Manage medical supplies and materials and work with their operational leader to order necessary inventory.
• Take x-rays.
• Medical Assistants will be cross trained to be able to cover front desk activities when needed.
• Other duties are to support the physician and team with patient care activities.
