Job summary

The Royal College of Art in London seeks a practical and organised Technical Assistant in Media Resources to support students, staff and visitors with media equipment.

Based at White City Resource Store, you will run the loans desk, issue and check in equipment, maintain booking systems, and provide day-to-day help on photographic, video and AV gear in a busy creative environment. The role is fixed-term to 20 August 2027 and full-time.

Qualifications

• Experience with photographic, video and AV equipment.
• Experience using electronic booking systems.
• Well-organised and customer-focused.
• Confident communication with a wide range of people.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Run the loans desk, checking, issuing and storing equipment.
• Maintain and update equipment booking systems and information materials.
• Assist with deliveries, returns, repairs and stock management.
• Support end-of-year shows or installations and access to local media facilities.
• Provide day-to-day help and advice on media equipment (photographic, video, sound, AV).
